Chalk paint furniture3/4/2023 2 My Top Picks for the Best Paint For Furniture, 2022.1 A Side-by-Side Comparison of Today’s Top Furniture Paints.Fortunately, I’ve done all the research and testing for you to find the absolute best paint for furniture! Your time and money is much better spent on a higher quality paint that is cheaper.įinding a paint that will be durable, go on smoothly with a brush, and has good coverage is vital to the success of your furniture painting projects. If you spend $40 on a can of paint with poor coverage, that means it will take several coats. That’s why I believe the most important prep work when painting furniture is choosing the right paint. Repairing a bad paint job means you have to sand off and repair peeling areas or worse, repaint the piece all over again because your paint product didn’t adhere or protect the furniture finish.Ībraham Lincoln once said, “If I have 6 hours to cut down a tree, I’ll spend 4 hours sharpening the ax.” The last thing you want to do is use a low-grade paint that ends up peeling. Picking the right paint is so important when redoing furniture. Furniture paints are not created equal and as you’ll see from my testing, the most expensive paints are not the best! That’s why you don’t want to leave the results up to chance by using just any old paint. Painting furniture is so worthwhile but it is still a lot of work. If you found an old furniture piece on the side of the road or in a used furniture shop, giving it a gorgeous paint finish will make all the difference transforming your roadside rescue into a piece that looks like it came from Pottery Barn. If you are painting a family heirloom, you want to get it the best finish possible to protect it for many years to come as a treasured furniture piece. Most furniture you refinish will fall into one of two categories.

However, there’s something about City of Heroes that not only makes it much easier to get into but almost an addicting activity. Maybe you’re not prone to team up in your online games, and trust me, I get that. Making the mental shift to be able to enjoy it is key. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still a lot of fun, but this game definitely comes from a different era and design direction than most have experienced. It’s much slower and more strategic, with long skill cooldowns and frequent pauses to watch your character perform animations during inductions. Expect a different flow of combatĬoming from modern MMORPGs or other superhero games like Champions Online and DC Universe Online, City of Heroes’ combat may come as a shock. Take some pointers from costuming pros and color matching experts when it comes time to fashion your next amazing outfit. So whether you’re a pro or a novice at being a virtual caped crusader, here are 10 helpful City of Heroes tips to get the most out of your experience!Įveryone knows that the real game is won or lost on the character creation screen because here is where you’ll either fashion an eye-catching masterpiece or an actual moving dumpster fire. With that in mind, the Massively OP team put its head together and drafted up a list of pointers that we ourselves would want to know if we were coming to the game fresh to play on one of the (multiple) new player-led servers. Since the game’s been offline since 2012 and some of the guides and instructional videos have fallen by the wayside, finding useful tips for getting into City of Heroes isn’t as easy as you might expect. With the (community-led) rebirth of City of Heroes in 2019, a rather interesting problem has arisen for this superhero title: Namely, players who never tried out this game before are getting their first experience with the game without realizing that this is a pre- World of Warcraft MMO that operates in a different way than modern gamers might expect. Image crawler octoparse3/3/2023 The XPath that locates the element that has a title attribute with the value "Next" would look like this: XPath basically says, go to the element(s) whose title attribute is "Next". In this case, we can use either the title attribute or the content text to target the Next Page button in the HTML. Let's take the pagination action as an example.Īfter we select the next button to build the pagination action, Octoparse would generate an XPath to locate the next button, so that it knows which button to click. XPath is used to locate target elements from the doc. Scraping web pages with Octoparse is actually to scrape elements from HTML docs. Why do you need to know XPath when using Octoparse This short XPath would look for the element book regardless of its absolute location in the HTML, then go one level down to find the target element author.Ģ. For example, the short XPath for /bookstore/book/author can be written as //book/author. The XPath that starts from the root element (the top element in the doc) and goes through all the elements in between to the target element is called an Absolute XPath.Įxample: "/html/body/div/div/div/div/div/div/div/div/div/span/span/span…"Ībsolute path can be long and confusing, so to simplify Absolute XPath, we can use "//" to reference the element we want to start the XPath with (also known as a short XPath). With XPath, you can find the page elements quickly and easily just like finding a file on your computer. Look familiar?Įvery file on the computer has its own path, so are the elements on a web page. To find the file named "author", the exact file path is \bookstore\book\author. Everything you see on the webpage can be found within the HTML, such as an image, blocks of text, links, menus and etc. If you load a web page on a browser (Chrome, Firefox, etc), you can easily access the corresponding HTML doc by hitting the F12 key. Web pages are generally written in a language called HTML. It can help you find an element from the whole document precisely and quickly. XPath (XML Path Language) is a query language for selecting elements from an XML/HTML document. How to write an XPath (cheat sheet included)Ībsolute XPath and Relative XPath (for loop) In this article, I will briefly introduce XPath and more importantly, show you how it can be used to fetch the data you need by building tasks that are accurate and precise. While XPath may look intimidating at first, it need not be. Rewriting XPath can help you deal with missing pages, missing data or duplicates, etc. XPath plays an important role when you use Octoparse to scrape data. So much for making a campfire! It was pouring all evening so we enjoyed our cold hot dogs in the car. As we approached the campsite, it started raining. We ran down one of the less steep slopes. The wind picked up, especially at the top, and sand was pelting us in the face. Once the sun started going down, it cooled off quickly. We practiced some yoga before sitting down and enjoying the sunset with some snacks. The sun was setting on the other side of the dunes, so we wanted to get to the top and see it.Īfter a long struggle, we finally made it to the top. Walking in sand is hard enough as it is, but add a steep incline and it’s near impossible. That task looks a lot easier than it actually is. Our goal was to climb to the top of the highest dune. It was about knee deep at points and so wide that it was impossible to avoid. We had to cross a freezing-cold river to get to the dunes. Sydney and I set up our tent and headed straight for the dunes, a 5 minute walk from the campsite. Taking the park ranger’s advice, we tried to find something sheltered by trees since the dunes tend to get windy at night, but also with a decent view of the dunes. We planned on camping in the park, so we paid our fee at the drop box and picked a site. The sand has been accumulating for thousands of years, and it’s a sight to see! We stopped at a convenience store on the way to grab firewood and hot dogs / marshmallows to make for dinner. Several mountains shelter the dunes, so when sand particles are blown in, they are trapped. These sand dunes are the tallest in North America! They are at the western base of the Sangre de Cristo mountain range. We drove another couple hours after lunch before arriving at the Great Sand Dunes. Had to be extra careful for the rest of the trip to not scratch my lens! On the first stop, I somehow lost the lens cap to my brand new camera. While I was already getting a lot better at taking pictures from the window of a moving vehicle, sometimes it’s necessary to get out and walk around. We passed some amazing scenery on the way and I made Sydney stop to take pictures a few times. Our next and final destination for the day was the Great Sand Dunes National Park. If you stand at the right angle, you can see Pike’s Peak perfectly framed by the gap in the twins. We detoured from the paved path to get to the Siamese Twins, a large rock formation that looks like, well, Siamese twins. Many of the paths in the park are paved, while various other side paths are dirt trails. After stopping at the park’s visitor center (which has some great views of the park, by the way), we made moves to start our short hike. Our goal in Colorado Springs was to go to the Garden of the Gods. The next morning we got up bright and early to head to Colorado Springs, the town 70 miles south of Denver. We decided to do the trip in three days and two nights. It’s fun to disconnect from technology now and then (plus I had already gone over my data limit for the month). While we were flipping through the guide figuring out where exactly to go, we decided to do this trip old school: no GPS or cell phones, only paper maps. The free Colorado guide I ordered had just arrived before I left. We planned the trip after I got to Denver. I had just gotten my GoPro and Canon DSLR so I was excited to use them on this trip. My cousin Sydney lives in Denver, CO and we had talked about doing a road trip around Colorado for months. I graduated college in May 2015 and decided to travel for the next month. Bible analyzer forum3/3/2023 Introduction to Digital Filters is well… an introduction to digital filters, filter design, as well as some filter analysis. Though it (really really really) may not feel like it at the time, the problem sets at the end of each chapter are there to help you The first half is a relatively linear read. The last half of the book is all supplementary material, which can be consumed optionally and out of order. Julius has mentioned that he tries to use as many terms in his book as possible to get students used to the inconsistent terminology used in the literature. Julius has a pretty dense writing style, so it’s easy to get lost, especially in the later chapters. You don’t really need anything more than highschool trig. This book is designed to be an introductory book for STEMy people as well as musicians and artists without a strong STEM background. I found that the first few chapters in this book pair really well with the first few chapters in Musimathics, Vol 2 by Gareth Loy. This is the textbook used in the CCRMA 320a course. Mathematics of the DFT is a book all about the DFT (the underlying mathematic process that the FFT algorithm does) and introduction to spectrum analysis. Julius Smith (one of the co-creators of the coursera DSP course) is a professor at CCRMA and his website has many great audio DSP goodies available online, including his textbooks he uses for his classes. The code for each DSP algorithm is usually fairly self-contained and I’ve found them to be useful reference implementations. Daisy ported some of them to C++ in their DaisySP library. If you are comfortable linking technology and bible study, this app should be the perfect glue.I wrote soundpipe to be a collection of usable DSP algorithms that could be easily dropped into projects. To conclude, Portable Bible Analyzer is a smart companion for any bible reader out there. Write down important aspects of your life within the Daily Journal and schedule reading sessions with ease. More interactive featuresįlipping bible pages and finding key verses might be the program's main task, but personal development features seem to have been integrated as well. Activating the text-to-speech function is possible in a single tab view only, so if it doesn't work, you must switch from Parallel view to AVS or AV. In case your eyes are too tired to be exposed to a monitor's light, listening to the Word is advised. You can also select verses using the Bible Tree sidebar, which can be hidden and resized. For example, one can input any word or reference in the upper central search box and jump to any verse instantly. One can also compare and check the differences between these two versions by activating the Parallel view.Īny digital copy is far from beating the real, paperback book, yet not completely useless. Switching the versions can be easily done by clicking their labels, ASV and AV. The program is a simple digital bible based on the Authorized King James Bible of 1611, and the American Standard Version of 1901. Also, you can install this version on a removable drive, so you can access the program even outside the confines of your home. If you prefer to keep your drive as clean as possible, the portable version can help.
